Monday –
As an AD Ego Motion/ Localization Engineer in the Automotive industry, my first task is to create a new KanBo board for a project I recently got assigned. I access KanBo and select “Create Board.” After providing the basic details, I add lists to the board representing different stages of the project. Then I create cards under each list that represent tasks within those stages. I assign myself to certain cards and give due dates to ensure timely completion.
Tuesday –
I wake up to email notifications that remind me of important tasks for the day. I check KanBo and see that I have to complete a few cards today. I open one of those cards to update its status, add notes to it, and attach some relevant documents. I also check for any comments or feedback from team members on other cards. Using the “Follow” option on the board, I make sure I stay informed of any updates to cards or the overall board.
Wednesday –
Another team member has completed a task and asks for my feedback. Instead of emailing them back, I can use the board’s “Chat” feature to have a quick discussion about the task in context with others. I mention another team member in the chat, and they join the discussion with their inputs. The chat gets automatically saved on the card, so we can refer back to it later if needed.
Thursday –
I am collaborating on a project with a team from a different location. To make sure they are up-to-date with the project’s progress, I add them to the board and assign some cards to them. Since they are in a different time zone, they can access the board and work on those cards whenever it’s convenient for them. I also use the “Activity Stream” feature to see any recent changes made by the added team members.
Friday –
As the week comes to an end, I use the board’s “Reports” feature to give a quick overview of the project’s progress. The report tells me of tasks completed, overdue, or upcoming. I share the report with my team during a weekly status update meeting. We discuss the progress, and I add any action items to the board as cards. As the meeting ends, I am confident that we have everything in one place on the board, and it is easier to keep track of how the project progresses going forward.
